I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
