A person who contaminated treats with sleeping medication and provided them to minors at a youth camp in Leicestershire has confessed to sexual offenses against two boys aged nine and 10.
The defendant was arrested after eight youngsters and a grown-up became sick at the location in mid-summer.
The 76-year-old, from that region, pleaded guilty to a multiple criminal counts when he was present at the judicial center on Friday.
However, he disputed a single sexual charge he was charged with, which was involving a nine-year-old child.
Ruben was kept in jail prior to a further hearing on late November.
'Candy game'
The prosecutor, presenting evidence, detailed Ruben's offending to the judicial body.
She stated his targets were under-privileged children who were staying at a youth camp which he managed.
The man engaged in a "candy game" with the children, Mrs Prior stated, in which he would go into the sleeping quarters when they were getting ready for bed and request they to consume candy "rapidly".
She told the court the defendant had played this game with the young males "repeatedly", and minors had previously fallen ill the subsequent day.
She explained Ruben had been successful in rationalizing this for many years as the children being "overstimulated by activities", until his family member had worries in recently.
The prosecutor stated further: "This year his family member had worries about the activities, justifiably.
"They chose" to investigate in the man's possessions."
The legal counsel explained objects including lubricant, ointment and medical needles were located, and his stepson alerted the police about his suspicions.
She stated Ruben continued to conduct the "candy game" with six children that night - July 26th - and they were all ill the following morning.
"The police had not gone out by that time," she stated further.
The oversight body, the investigative body, had stated that it was investigating the police response of the incident.
The legal representative explained the children were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so Ruben's stepson contacted the law enforcement once more.
She said Ruben then played the "sweet game" in a area of five minors.
