Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Presently working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden title following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.
The win also signifies he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to create a third set.
Moutet defended four initial chances in a close final set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
